THE ICON:

Its history began in the 16th century in Germany with portable clock watches. Early wrist watches were scarce until the 20th century when in 1904 when Cartier created the ‘Santos’ a landmark for men's wristwatches originally designed for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, later released to the public, establishing Cartier as a pioneering force in elegant timepieces.
