The knife and spoon are probably the oldest and most fundamental tools fashioned by man. THE ICON

Stainless steel was introduced in the 1920s, making flatware accessible, hygienic, and affordable to all. The photograph of the knife, fork, and spoon is taken from a classic rat-tail collection, crafted in stainless steel, recognised for its simple, elegant, and timeless style.
The design originated in the 17th century. It is recognised as one of the oldest cutlery patterns. The central, ridge-like "tail" on the back of the bowl was designed to provide extra rigidity to the handle.

The classic lines and surface of the cutlery are captured in Revell’s overlapping composition, lit in his dramatic monochromatic style.
